In a growing technological world education is increasingly improving and becoming an integral part to acquiring and maintaining a solid career. At the top of the education pyramid lays STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) programs which are in high demand for participants. There is an ever ready need for new young smart STEM majors however there is an increased shortage resulting in crippled job market, where there are more jobs but not enough people. What is even worse is that out of the people that do decide to go into STEM programs the vast majority are males.
" While more talented young women than ever are starting out in the sciences and engineering, they are failing to complete their chosen undergraduate programs in far greater numbers than their male peers"
After this statement the real question is why are the women that start out in STEM majors not being able to complete their programs when compared to their male counterpart?
